What type of service can I expect? TOP

Pleasant and professional service.  I take the time to finish with care and use quality materials so you will have a lovely piece to enjoy for many years.  If you are hesitant and want to 'test the waters', I recommend sending one piece for finishing, then you can decide if my service is the right one for you.

Do you finish needlepoint? TOP

Selectively!  I do finish smaller needlepoint pieces, such as flat ornaments and standups.  Please contact me to discuss before sending your needlepoint piece.  For other needlepoint finishing, such as pillows, please contact your local needlework shop.  In New Jersey, please visit The Edwardian Needle for your needlepoint finishing needs.

What's included in the finishing? TOP

All of the basic materials.  Cotton backing fabric is included, though you are welcome to send your own—cotton/quilting fabrics work best.  Small scale prints are best for small pieces.  There is an additional charge for Weeks wools.  Twisted cording is included for ornaments and scissor fobs, with an additional charge for larger pieces.  Ribbon, silk, beads, rick rack, pom pom, tassels and embellishments are available at an additional charge.

How do I place a finishing order? TOP

If I don't know what I want, can I send my piece and leave the finishing up to you? TOP

Of course you can!  I have an eye for design and will coordinate a beautiful finish for your piece.

What should I include when sending my piece for finishing? TOP

Please submit a Desktop Online Order Form or Mobile Online Order Form, or mail a Printable Order Form.  Include backing fabric, if sending your own; otherwise, I will coordinate one for you.  If you have a specific finish in mind (such as The Victoria Sampler gingerbread cottages), please enclose any accessory packs, special materials and templates required to complete the project, as well as the full finishing instructions.

How long before I receive my finishing order? TOP

That depends on how many pieces are in your order, as well as the level of difficulty.  For example, etuis and smalls can be complex finishes that require more time.  The average time to complete an order is about 5 to 8 weeks.  During peak holiday season, it may take longer.

How does shipping work? TOP

Your finished pieces are packaged with great care to protect them from the elements.  U.S. orders ship via USPS Priority mail with a tracking number emailed to you.

Do you use acid-free materials? TOP

Absolutely!  I take great care when handling your stitching.  Acid-free conservation board and Warm & Natural cotton quilt batting are used for flat finishes.  Acid-free tacky glue is used sparingly.

Which types of fabric do you use? TOP

I have a nice selection of cotton/quilting solids and prints; hand-dyed wool felt, including Weeks; gorgeous moiré and Dupioni silks for lining delicate smalls and accessories.  If I don't have a suitable fabric for your piece on hand, I put on my shopping shoes!

Will my stitching arrive smoke free? TOP

Yes, all finishing is done in the studio of my smoke-free home.

Which forms of payment do you accept? TOP

PayPal is my preferred method of payment.  In most cases, you can pay with a credit card through PayPal even if you don't have a PayPal account.  Cash and money orders are also accepted.  Checks may be accepted for established customers.

When is your deadline for Christmas and holiday finishing? TOP

October 1st; however, if you've missed the deadline, always check with me because I can often still accommodate your needs, especially if you only need one piece finished, I can probably squeeze it in!
